Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Dayli Health (the "app"), its Apple Watch app and widgets, the neighborhood service behind the app, and the website daylihealth.com do with information about you. It is written to be read. Where a law requires a specific statement, it is in the section for that law near the end.

Dayli Health is made by Repair Spots Inc., a Florida corporation based in West Palm Beach, Florida, United States ("we", "us"). We are the party responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach us at support@daylihealth.com.

1. The short version

Everything you log stays on your iPhone. Three things can leave it, each only when you use the feature that needs it: a meal photo, when you tap Estimate nutrition; game records, when you play in the neighborhood; and anonymous usage statistics, which you can switch off in Settings. There is no account for the app itself, no advertising, no cross-app tracking, and we never sell personal information. Your weight, your meals, your photos and everything from Apple Health are never part of the usage statistics and never shown to a neighbor.

2. What we collect, where it goes, and why

2.1 Information that stays on your device

All of this is stored in the app's private storage on your iPhone and is not transmitted to us:

  • Your profile: name (whatever you type), sex, date of birth, height, weight and goal
  • Every meal you log, its nutrition numbers, notes and photos
  • Every weigh-in and water entry
  • Anything read from Apple Health with your permission: active and resting energy, steps, exercise minutes, workouts, body mass and sleep
  • Coaching notes written on the device
  • Supplement or medication reminders you set up, including what you called them and the dose you wrote. These exist only to schedule a local notification on this phone and are never transmitted, never included in usage statistics and never sent to any provider
  • An API key, if you choose to enter your own, which is held in the iOS Keychain

Deleting the app deletes all of it. "Delete all data" in Settings clears it without removing the app. We hold no copy, so we cannot recover it for you.

2.2 Photo estimates: what leaves, and only when you ask

When you tap Estimate nutrition on a meal, the app sends that one photo, the meal type, any hint you typed, and your short list of food corrections (the "when you say X, I mean Y" pairs the app learns when you rename an item, which carry food names only) so that calories and macros can be estimated. Photographing a Nutrition Facts label works the same way: that one photo is sent so the figures on it can be read back. Describing a meal in words sends the words instead of a photo.

Nothing else goes with it. Not your name, weight, health data, other meals or a device identifier.

The request goes first to a server we operate, which checks that it comes from a genuine install of the app, counts it against the daily scan limit, and passes it on to a third-party artificial intelligence provider that produces the estimate. Our server does not store the photo, what you typed, or the estimate. It keeps only a counter per install (scans today, free scans used) so that limits can be enforced.

The AI provider processes the photo to return the estimate. The provider we use states that it does not retain API inputs and outputs by default and does not use them to train its models, and that content flagged by its automated safety systems may be retained for a limited period. Its own policy governs its handling. If you enter your own API key in Settings, the photo goes directly to the provider whose key you entered, under your own account with that provider, and our server is not involved.

If you never use photo analysis, no photo ever leaves your iPhone.

2.3 The neighborhood

The neighborhood is the game in the app: a home and garden that grow from coins earned by doing the things the app already tracks, and a street of up to ten homes belonging to real people.

How coins are worked out matters for privacy. Your workouts and your day's food are read on the device and turned into a coin amount and a short reason such as "workout" or "day logged". Only the amount and the reason category are kept. The game never stores a duration, a calorie figure, a weight or anything else from Apple Health, and no part of the game can read them.

So that real people can share a street, the neighborhood runs on a cloud database and authentication service operated by a third-party provider on our behalf. The app signs in to it anonymously: you are a random identifier, not a name or an email. What is stored there is the game and nothing else:

  • Your home, land, buildings, garden and items
  • Your coin ledger: amounts, days and kinds, never a workout or a meal
  • The name you give your home, an avatar, your home's level, your Reputation number and property rating
  • The day the app was last opened, next to your random identifier, so a house that has been quiet for a while can make room for a guest
  • Invites and seat offers: a code, two random identifiers, the inviting home's name, a coin amount and dates
  • Challenges: what the challenge is, when it started, your progress in quarters (0, 25, 50, 75 or 100 percent) and whether you finished. Never a distance, a duration, a pace, a route, a heart rate or a workout. That rule is enforced in the code and tested

Your neighbors can see the game things listed above. Nobody sees a real name unless you type one as your home's name; the screen that asks for it says so.

If you choose to link Sign in with Apple in Settings, that is only so you can get your game back on a new phone. Apple is asked for no name and no email, and we receive only an anonymous identifier from Apple.

2.4 Dayli Health Plus

Plus is an optional subscription sold through Apple. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card, your name or your email. To know whether an install has Plus, the app sends our server the signed purchase information Apple issues for your subscription and the app's own signed receipt (which also tells us whether the install came from TestFlight). Our server verifies Apple's signature and keeps, per install, the scan counters described in section 2.2. Nothing about your health is attached to any of it.

2.5 Usage statistics and crash reports (optional)

The app uses a third-party analytics and crash-reporting service to tell us which features are used and when the app crashes. This is on by default. Settings, Privacy, Share anonymous usage data turns it off; turning it off stops collection and clears the identifier for this installation.

What is sent: which screens you open and which features you use, as a fixed list of events (a meal was logged and of what type, a photo was analyzed and whether it worked, items were corrected, a weigh-in was recorded, a setting was toggled, a goal warning was shown); a resettable installation identifier; device model, OS version and country; and, after a crash, the stack trace and device state at that moment.

What is never sent, by design rather than by policy: your weight, calories, macros, meals, photos, name, age, height, goal numbers, and anything read from or written to Apple Health. Every event is defined in a single closed list, and every value attached to one is a fixed category or a true or false, never a number off your plate or your scale.

2.6 Apple Health

With your permission the app reads activity, workouts, weight and sleep from Apple Health, and writes back the meals and weigh-ins you log. That exchange happens entirely on your device through Apple's HealthKit framework. Health data is never transmitted off the device by us, never sent to any AI provider, never included in analytics or crash reports, never used for advertising, and never sold or shared. You can revoke access at any time in the iOS Health app, and the rest of Dayli Health keeps working.

2.7 Widgets and Apple Watch

The Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets and the Apple Watch app show a summary of today: calories eaten against your budget, protein, water, steps, active energy, sleep hours, your weight, and your neighborhood coins and level. The iPhone app writes that summary to a private area on the same phone that only the app and its widgets can read, and sends the same summary to your paired watch over Apple's device-to-device link. It contains no meal names, no notes and no photos. Water logged from a widget or the watch is written into the app the next time it runs. None of it goes to a server.

2.8 Coaching notes and Apple Intelligence

On devices that support it, the daily coaching note is written by Apple's on-device model, locally on your iPhone. Nothing about your day is sent anywhere for it.

2.9 Workout share cards

When a workout is worth mentioning, the app can draw a card you can post. The card is drawn on your iPhone and is not sent anywhere by the app. Tapping Share hands the image to whichever app you pick from the system share sheet, and from that point it is governed by that app's own policy. The card carries the workout type, duration, calories burned, the reason it was notable, anything you typed into the message field, and the app's name. It carries no weight, no goal, no calorie budget and no heart rate.

2.10 Notifications

Reminders and game notifications are local notifications scheduled by the app on your iPhone. There is no push server and no push token. If neighbor challenges are ever delivered by push, that will need one, and this policy will say so first.

2.11 This website

daylihealth.com sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Our web server keeps standard access logs (the requesting IP address, the page requested, the time, and the browser's user agent) for security and troubleshooting, and deletes them on a rolling basis within 30 days. If you email us, we keep the email for as long as needed to answer you.

3. Service providers

We use a small number of third-party providers to run the features described above. They process information only on our instructions and for the purposes stated here:

  • Apple: app distribution, payments and subscriptions, Sign in with Apple, HealthKit, TestFlight and the device-to-device link to your watch
  • An artificial intelligence provider, for photo, label and text nutrition estimates
  • A cloud database and authentication provider, for the neighborhood and for the server that counts scans and verifies Plus
  • An analytics and crash-reporting provider, for the optional usage statistics
  • A hosting provider for this website

Each of these is bound by its own terms to protect the information it processes to a standard at least as protective as this policy. Their servers are in the United States; by using the features that involve them, information is transferred there.

We do not sell personal information, do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and do not use any advertising network or advertising identifier.

4. How long we keep things

  • On your device: until you delete the entry, use "Delete all data", or delete the app.
  • Photo estimate requests: not stored by our server. The AI provider's retention is described in section 2.2.
  • Scan counters and Plus status: kept per install while the install is in use, and deleted on request.
  • Neighborhood records: kept while your home stands on a street, and deleted when you ask us to delete your neighborhood.
  • Usage statistics: retained by the analytics provider for up to 14 months; turning the switch off clears the identifier so new events are not linked to old ones.
  • Website access logs: up to 30 days.

5. Your choices and rights

Wherever you live, you can:

  • See and correct everything the app holds about you, on the device, at any time.
  • Delete it: any single entry, everything at once ("Delete all data" in Settings), or the app itself.
  • Keep photos on the phone by not using photo analysis.
  • Stop usage statistics with the switch in Settings.
  • Revoke Apple Health access in the Health app.
  • Delete your neighborhood (your home, ledger, street membership and the anonymous identifier) by emailing support@daylihealth.com from any address. We complete deletions within 30 days and confirm by reply. We may ask for your home's name to find the right record; we cannot recover a deleted home.
  • Ask what we hold about you on our servers, receive a copy of it, or object to a use described here, at the same address. Because our servers hold no name or email, we will ask for your home's name or another detail that lets us locate the record, and nothing more than we need.

We answer within 30 days, or tell you why we need longer. We will never treat you differently for exercising a right. If you are unhappy with our answer, you may appeal by replying to it; a different person will review the appeal and answer within 45 days. You may also complain to the privacy regulator where you live.

6. Security

Everything that leaves the device travels over encrypted connections (TLS). Server-side records are stored on the providers' encrypted infrastructure with access limited to us. Your own API key, if you enter one, is stored in the iOS Keychain. No method is perfect, but the most sensitive information, your meals, weight and health data, never leaves your phone in the first place, which is the strongest protection we know of.

7. Children

Dayli Health is not directed at children under 13, and its guidance is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the neighborhood, email us and we will delete the record.

8. Not medical advice

Dayli Health provides general wellness guidance and photo-based estimates. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent anything, and photo estimates can be meaningfully wrong. Talk to a doctor or a registered dietitian before making significant changes to how you eat.

9. Region-specific notices

9.1 California

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law, and have not done so in the preceding 12 months. We do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals because we do not track visitors across sites. California residents may use the rights in section 5 and may designate an authorized agent to do so.

9.2 Washington, Nevada and Connecticut (consumer health data)

This section is our consumer health data privacy policy for residents of Washington (My Health My Data Act), Nevada and Connecticut.

  • Categories of consumer health data collected: nutrition entries, weight, water, activity and sleep data read from Apple Health, and meal photos. All of it is collected from you directly, or from Apple Health with your permission, and is stored on your device only. The only consumer health data that leaves the device is the single meal photo, hint and food-correction list you send when you ask for an estimate, and the coin amounts and reason categories described in section 2.3.
  • Purposes: to provide the app's features at your request. Nothing else.
  • Sources: you, and Apple Health.
  • Sharing: the meal photo and text you send for an estimate are processed by our server and by the artificial intelligence provider named by category in section 3. No consumer health data is shared with anyone else, and none is sold.
  • Affiliates: we have none that receive consumer health data.
  • Your rights: to know whether we collect, share or sell your consumer health data and with whom; to access it; to withdraw consent; and to have it deleted. Exercise them as described in section 5, including the appeal process there.

9.3 Canada

We rely on your consent, given when you use a feature, for the collection and use described here. You may withdraw it at any time by stopping the feature or deleting the app. Information sent for estimates or to the neighborhood is processed in the United States and may be subject to United States law while there.

9.4 Colombia, Dominican Republic and El Salvador

You have the rights of access, updating, rectification and deletion (habeas data) over personal information we hold, and the right to revoke your authorization. Exercise them by email as described in section 5. Our servers are in the United States, and you authorize that transfer when you use the features that require it.

10. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we post the new version at daylihealth.com/legal/privacy-policy with a new effective date, and the app links to the current version. For a change that affects what leaves your device, the app will tell you before that feature is used again.
